What does this icon mean?
When you see this icon in front of a post title, it means the post is content original to soggypickle dot com. The author of the post created the content
him or herself or is posting someone elses contributions with their permission. If this is the case, it will be noted in the post. Support soggypickle and
digg, post to delicious, and share the original content with friends if you find it entertaining or useful. Feel free to share linked content as well.
Where did the Reviews section go?
We decided it was unnecessary to have a seperate section for reviews, mainly because there weren't enough of them being posted. We will still review stuff,
its just now the reviews will show up as blog entries. If you want to specifically view reviews, turn on the Reviews filter by clicking the link at the top
of the main or blog page that says Reviews.
Why isn't there a comment system?
There's a really good reason why there's no comment system. Here a soggypickle, we don't care what you think about our posts. Aside from that, we've noticed
comment systems usually just create a bunch of pointless banter, act as platforms for Internet bullying, and are a forum for spammers. We don't feel like dealing
with this. Maybe in the future you'll see a comment system implemented, but there are currently no plans to do so.
Who posts on soggypickle?
The soggypickle staff does. This consists of Tim, Brandi, Jim, Dom, and Kevin. All of the posters know each other in real life. We all hang out pretty frequently
and have known each other for a while.
Can anyone post on soggypickle?
In order to have posting access on soggypickle we must know you in real life. If we don't, then we probably won't let you post. You can always email the admin
and run it by him though.
What's the difference between the main page and the blog plage?
The main page is the first thing seen when a user visits soggypickle. We've done our best to put a variety of the content we have to offer on the main page. As
you've probably noticed, the left column lists blog entries, limiting the body text to 1,000 characters. If a post is over 1,000 characters, the user can
click the Read more... link or on the title of the post to view it in its entirety. The right column currently shows random blog entries, older blog entries, and
banner ads (we have to try and make money some how). We are constantly tweaking the content in this column to better fit you, our viewer.
The blog page, unlike the main page, shows the entire post. If a post is 5,236 characters, all characters are shown. There is no cut off. The titles can still be
clicked on to view only the selected post (which is useful when posting a link on another site or bookmarking an article). We feel some users would rather browse the
site this way opposed to viewing only excerpts from posts, which is how the main page displays the data.
