I usually hate lists, but I really liked the topic. Haven't we all known someone who has that Bob Marley poster where he's smoking a huge ass blunt? Here's two of my favorites from the list:
No, not those types of androids. Google's mobile platform has been given the green light by the FCC. Will this truly be the next big breakthrough in cellular service? Maybe it will knock down the service costs of my iPhone...
"Google's Android operating system is one step closer to commercial availability as the first Android-powered handset has been given the green light by the Federal Communications Commission.
The handset is being made by High Tech Computer, and the documentation confirms that the device is being called the "Dream." Keeping in line with recent reports, the handset will support T-Mobile's 3G network.
In the documentation, there's mention of a "jog ball," which many expect to be similar to the trackball found on Research In Motion devices like the BlackBerry Bold. The documents also reveal the device will have 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, as well as Bluetooth capabilities.
The FCC documentation does not include pictures of the device, but it is expected to sp... Read more
Who needs an iPhone when one can wear a special pair of glasses that allows reading while laying down (take a look at the picture below)? I came across this CNET article and photo gallery and was pretty impressed (and sometimes puzzled). Below I pulled a few of my favorite gadgets from the 1800's but if you're interested in the entire list, head on over to CNET.
I love the baseball game that’s included with Wii Sports, but if you’re like me you’ll probably soon be pretty bored of simply swinging and pitching. What about playing the field? Lets not forget how Wii Sports’ baseball game also doesn’t really include any sort of campaign, missions, or unlockable characters. This is where Mario Super Sluggers can fill the void. To be released August 25th, 2008, this Mario sports game looks promising and will hopefully be exactly what us Western’s need to fulfill our desire for the great American past time.
Much like it’s predecessor, Mario Super Sluggers touts several different game modes; four to be exact.
Some of you maybe have heard about this project before, but I just came across some info today and must say it looks promising. Currently Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, and newly committed Mike Myers are staring with the possibility of many other big names joining the rooster, including The Office's B.J. Novak and Adam Sandler. (Well, B.J.'s a big name to me at least).
Originally released in 1977, this remake will be made directed by Quentin Tarantino and is looking at a 2009 release. As described by IMDB:
"In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers."
I tried searching for some video footage of the potential 2009 release of this film, however, I came up a little short only found this clip that highlights a few scenes from the original and has a short interview with Tarantino and Enzo Castellari, the director of the 1977 version. Here it is:
